What does Plenti look at as part of your WA Residential Battery Scheme loan application?

Plenti administers the WA Residential Battery Scheme on behalf of the WA Government. This means that Plenti must follow both the scheme’s eligibility rules and Australian consumer credit laws when assessing applications. Key factors include:

Scheme eligibility – The property must be a Western Australian residential property (not owned by government, banking or mining entities) and the applicant must be a permanent Australian resident aged 18 or over and a customer of Synergy or Horizon Power. The inverter you plan to install must appear on the approved product lists and be installed after 1 July. All customers must participate in a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) and have reliable internet access.

Loan parameters and income cap – Under the WA Government guidelines, the household’s gross annual income must be less than AUD 210 000. Income is verified by reviewing your latest income‑tax return or Centrelink statement (for the tax year ending 2025) and up to 18 months prior. Loans range from $2 001 to $10 000, with a term length of three to ten years. The Loan is interest free and is subject to a $10 late re-payment fee, capped at $250. The loan plus rebate cannot exceed the total purchase and installation cost.
